SAQCC Code Of Conduct: Gas Practitioner

Grounds for Disciplinary Action

While this disciplinary code details the most severe penalties for the listed offences each case must be judged on its own merits. This list is therefore a guide and circumstances may dictate that an alternate or no penalties may apply.

Any offence not specifically listed below may be subject to a penalty such as deregistration, suspension, fines including written warnings. The Code is also not intended to be exhaustive. All situations below, and others, are always subject to investigation through a proper disciplinary process and observance of full procedural fairness!

De-registration sanctions
1. De-register for 1 year then under mentorship
2. Work under mentorship for a fixed period as agreed by the Association to fulfil agreed on requirements and then reapply
3. De-register for life

3. Being found in possession of or under the influence of illegal drugs or alcohol during working hours and / or whilst on customers’ premisesSAQCC Hearing: De-Registration
4. The falsification of any document in an attempt to mislead the SAQCC by misrepresenting facts on any document, including non-disclosure of a conflict of interest

Serious Misconduct
1. The ignoring of or failure to carry out correct safe working procedure, or observe safety requirements in any situation, or failure to notify responsible person of an unsafe situation, or any dangerous or hazardous behaviour that could result in injury death to self or others or damage to propertyAssociation Hearing: Final Written WarningSAQCC Hearing: De-Registration
